Sea delivery takes more than a good sailor: choosing the right weather window, preparing the boat, putting together a crew suited to the distance and knowing each port’s formalities. Boatway selects skippers holding offshore licences, RYA Yachtmaster or professional tickets (Master 200, STCW) depending on the job.

Our core areas: coastal passages along the French coast (Channel, Atlantic, Mediterranean, Corsica), Greek waters (Ionian, Gulf of Corinth, Cyclades, Dodecanese) and major crossings such as France ⇄ Caribbean via the Canaries or the Azores.

01

Transatlantic France ⇄ Caribbean

Westbound, the trade-wind route goes via the Canaries; eastbound, the northern route returns via the Azores. Allow 3 to 5 weeks depending on the boat. Our ocean crews always include at least three people and full safety equipment.

02

Mediterranean ⇄ Atlantic

Moving between sailing grounds via Gibraltar is one of our most requested deliveries. Our skippers master the tricky stretches: Bay of Biscay, Cape Finisterre, the Strait of Gibraltar and the Gulf of Lion.

03

Greece and the Greek islands

Delivery from France, repositioning between the Ionian and the Aegean via the Corinth Canal, charter returns: our Greek and French skippers know the meltemi and the Cyclades harbours.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a transatlantic delivery take?

Between La Rochelle and Martinique, allow about 4,000 nm and 4 to 5 weeks including stopovers. The return via the Azores is slightly shorter.

Can my motor boat cross the Atlantic?

Rarely under its own power: range limits crossings to large yachts. For the others we arrange cargo-ship transport (see Transport).

Can I come aboard during the delivery?

Sometimes, by agreement with the skipper. A delivery remains a professional job, not a cruise.
